The Marianist Center is the home of the Marianists of Cupertino who are
members of the Society of Mary, a Catholic Religious Order of Priests and Brothers.

The Marianist Pacific Province was formed in 1948. By the year 2000, there were several Marianist
establishments in Cupertino; the Pacific Provincial Administration, Villa St. Joseph Retirement Community,
the Alcalde House, the Pacific Marianist Archives, and the Marianist Retreat Center. the Provincial
Council announced the closing of the Marianist Retreat Center effective August 2003. On July 1, 2002 the
Province of Pacific ceased to exist as it was incorporated into the newly established Marianist Province of
the United States of America.
